- digging out trenches
- raised beds from fallen logs
- ready for dirt
- caution: stay off the fresh dirt
- post pounding
- deer safe and ready to use
Hello again to everyone in the camp community. I just wanted to give you a quick update on the progress of our garden project. I put up a post a couple weeks back after we broke ground, and now we are finally ready to put seed in. It’s a little later than we’d hoped, but there was a lot of digging, and leveling, and fencing to be done. Two trenches, two raised beds, and some deer fence later, here we are ready to start growing. We will be focusing on shorter season crops, mostly lettuces and radishes, in the hopes that we can get some stuff up by the time camp is in full swing. As noted in my previous post, a bunny massacred our early starts, but there should still be some room for flowers and longer season vegetables too. And the best news, we will be that much more prepared for future growing seasons. Thanks to everyone who has contributed time and energy to get us this far.
